Nanjing Road, the so-called No 1 shopping street on the Chinese mainland, is one of the most important commercial and tourist streets in Shanghai, which stretches from the bund to West Yan’an Road. It is a good place to learn the history and culture of Shanghai.
In the early 20th century, there were only four department stores along this stretch. Today, it has become the number one place for shopping
