Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Giant panda is beloved by people from all over the world. It is a symbol of world biodiversity conservation, peace and friendship. Giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild. It is an excellent recreational area and a highlight of any visit to Chengdu.

Dujiangyan Irrigation System

Dujiangyan Irrigation System is a well-known ancient irrigation project. Constructed in 256 BC under the leadership of Governor Li Bing, the Dujiangyan irrigation system was the world's oldest and only damless project that is still functioning, distributing waters of the Min River to the farmland of the Chengdu Plain, supporting a population over 10 million today. It best embodies the ancient Chinese philosophy of “man should always stay in harmony with nature while taking its advantage rather than working against nature (such as damming a river to build a reservoir).”

Wuhou Memorial Temple

Wuhou Memorial Temple, which is located in the south of Chengdu, is a famous historical site dedicated to the memory of both Liu Bei (161-223), Emperor of the Kingdom of Shu in the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280), and Zhuge Liang (181-234), Prime Minister of the kingdom. Here, you will hear lots of romantic stories about the Three Kingdoms Period, a heroic era in Chinese history.

Jinli Ancient Street

Jinli is a busy trading street with a history stretching back to the Qin Dynasty around two thousand years ago. Today, a new Jinli Street has been built on the site of the ancient lane in the southern part of Chengdu. It has become a tourist attraction, featuring aged buildings and folk customs from the area.

Du Fu Thatched Cottage

Du Fu Thatched Cottage is the former residence of Du Fu (712-70 AD), one of the greatest poets in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Referred to as the “Poet Sage'' by later generations, Du Fu spent four years in this thatched cottage, where he wrote over two hundred and forty poems.

Wangjiang Tower Park

Wangjiang Tower Park is one of three famous cultural relics in Chengdu. It is a memorial to a woman, Xue Tao, a poet in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Today, it is a symbol of Chengdu City and is an ideal place to appreciate bamboo.

Mt. Emei

Mt. Emei is blessed with Clouds Sea, Sunrise, Buddhist Halos, and Saint Lamps, these four great spectacles. It is one of the four famous Buddhist Mountains in China and known as the place of Buddhist Rites of Puxian (Samantabhadra bodhisattva).

Leshan Giant Buddha

With a total length of 71 meters, this solemn Buddha is the largest Buddha state in the world. “The Buddha is a mountain,and the mountain is a Buddha.” It will be more than interesting to visit the giant Buddha and try to explore the inside secrets on this statue.
