• Description: A slap-up restaurants serving seafood and native cuisines in Dadonghai area of Sanya. It is also the largest and best restaurant in Sanya. Prices are much higher than the local outdoor restaurants, but you don't need worry about cleanliness.

Hainan Feature Dishes Restaurant

• Description: A good place for you to try some local feature dishes. The most famous dish here is Huangliu Duck. When they boil the duck they put some specially-made ingredients into the soup which make the duck very tasty. Moreover the seasoning is also tasteful which mingles the ginger, soy, chili and some kumquat juice.

As one of the hottest tourist destinations in China, Sanya is densely dotted with hotels in various grades and types. From the inexpensive youth hostels to top grade luxurious hotels, nearly all the famous brand has their branches there.

Yalong Bay, with green palm trees and hills behind, is regarded as the best beach in Hainan province. The hotels and resorts here are the most luxurious and expensive in Hainan Province. Dadonghai is the first to be developed. The beach there is very nice with soft white sand and lovely blue turquoise water gently rolling on to the sand. It is an ideal place for diving, beach sports, bathing and sunbathing. Comparing with those in Yalong Bay, the hotels here all are good value for money. Sanya Bay, the newly developed area, is well-known for its stunning sunset and idyllic fishing life. Hotels here are less expensive.

Golf

With lush tropical climate, clear blue skies and natural beauty, Sanya is rapidly developing into an international golfers' mecca in recent years. With 4 quality golf courses in use and 2 more under construction, Sanya is a great destination for the world's golfing professionals and enthusiasts.

Surfing

Sonya is also a paradise for surfing during May to November each year. Surfing is an increasingly popular activity there. Relatively speaking, Sanya Bay may be too quiet while Yalong Bay and Dadonghai Bay have more waves. If you are a master-hand, try out the Shimei Bay, for it’s the venue for world-level surfing games. Surfboard rentals and lessons are offered by a number of small operations in surfing areas.

Scuba Diving & Snorkeling

Sanya is one of the largest diving sites in China, enjoying over 10 meters of water visibility, befitting diving sports in all seasons for its favorable tropical weather conditions. Yalong Bay, Dadonghai, Xiaodonghai, Wushizhou Island and West Island are widely recognized as super sites for diving. Professional diving trainings are available in Sanya. The trainees can obtain NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) certificates through training.

Sanya enjoys a monsoon tropical marine climate. It lies on the same altitude as the south of Hawaii and temperatures here are pleasantly warm, even in the middle of winter when the rest of China is freezing. Average annual temperature here is 26.5°C and annual rainfall is between 1,500mm and 2,000mm. Average daily sunshine reaches 12 hours and more than 300 days of a year, on average, are sunny.

It is extremely hot and humid here from June to October, although thunderstorms will occasionally cool down the air and give a relief from the heat. Most of the rain in this time of the year comes during the night and offers nice weather daytime. The best time to visit Sanya is from March to May or October to November when the Chinese New Year and Christmas crowds are gone and rain becomes less frequent.

Sunbonnet, sunglass, suntan oil are must to prevent yourself from burning under the sun.

Check your physical condition and the weather condition and choose a professional and certified organ to enjoy your water sports.

Do not eat the fish you catch from the sea freely. Some of then are poisonous.

Eat smartly and avoid eating too much seafood or tropic fruit.

If you don't want to buy anything from the peddlers, leave them as far as possible or refuse them decidedly at the very beginning, otherwise you will be followed until you pay for it even you are not willing to buy it.

No matter where you go shopping or what you buy, whether in street stalls or specialty shops, remember to bargain. Crafty vendors are more than happy to lighten your cash load.

Not all the recommendations on dining, shopping, hotels and sightseeing you get from the taxi drivers are advisable.
